The new Series CPA 2501 Avionics Digital Pressure Gauge features pressure ranges for measuring altitude (Ps) on one channel and airspeed (Qc) or "Total Pressure" (Pt) on the other. Each Pressure range has an accuracy of 0.01% of FS pressure. Ranges provide altitude readings from -3000 ft to 100,000 ft and Indicated Airspeeds or True Airspeed as high as 1150 Knots. The CPA 2501 can be configured with a single pressure sensor for altitude only (Ps Channel) or a dual channel configuration with two pressure sensors to read altitude and airspeed (Ps channel and a Pt or Qc Channel), each with individual test ports for measuring altitude and airspeed or Pt simultaneously.

The CPA 2501 has 4 different configuration versions:

  1. Ps only (altitude and altitude rate)
  2. Qc only (airspeed and airspeed rate)
  3. Ps and Qc ( combines 1 & 2 and calculates a Pt channel)
  4. Ps and Pt ( calculates a Qc channel)

Calculated channels utilize the equation Qc=Pt - Ps to calculate a virtual channels for Qc or Pt depending on the CPA 2501 configuration. Additionally, an optional barometric reference sensor is available for measurement of barometric pressure.

The operator interface utilizes the same type of color touch screen display found in Mensor’s popular CPC 6000 Automated Pressure Calibrator. Pressure readings are displayed with large characters for easy reading from across the room. The intuitive menu functions make the CPA 2501 easy to use. For example, the pressure or avionics units are displayed above the pressure reading window. Press the units and a pop-up menu appears with a complete list of engineering and avionics units that can be selected. For our international customers, the CPG 2500 currently supports 16 different languages.

For remote operation by a PC or data acquisition system, the CPA 2501 includes an RS-232 and Ethernet interface. An optional IEEE-488 interface is also available. The display includes a remote status indicator providing a visual indication for successful remote communications or when an error has been detected in the syntax or command. Firmware updates can be performed over the included RS-232 or Ethernet interfaces.
