PCS400 Pressure Calibration System

Application:

Calibration of pressure transmitters used to monitor pressures in different areas of a manufacturing facility

Challenge:

In industrial plants as well as pharmaceutical, there are requirements to maintain a positive or a negative pressure in relation to surrounding production areas. Maintaining a pressure differential between adjoining production areas may be for safety reasons or to minimize contamination of the production process. Since goods have to be moved into and out of the area, it is not always practical to seal off the area with air locks and doors. Positive pressure tends to push air borne particles out of the room and negative pressures tend to pull them in. If the differentials are maintained with a very slight difference between the rooms, the potential for movement between the rooms is minimized. To do this, the production rooms must have the pressure monitored constantly and adjusted as conditions change.

The transmitters that monitor the pressures in each room have to be calibrated precisely in order to maintain the very low pressure differential between rooms.

Solution:

Mensor has a PCS400 Pressure Calibrator System with a range of 0-0.36 psig and an accuracy of 0.01% FS. This instrument is capable of calibrating very low pressures with a very high accuracy. There is not another major manufacturer of Pressure Calibrators with the capability to calibrate with this accuracy at these extremely low pressures.
