Director of Sales

DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of the Director of Sales is to plan, implement and direct the activities of the sales department to achieve corporate objectives in revenue generation, customer satisfaction and retention. This position represents domestic sales, international sales, and sales administration at the staff level within the organization.  

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a sales strategy to achieve corporate goals.
  • Establish individual targets for Regional Sales Managers team and review them quarterly.
  • Manage House Accounts directly.
  • Coordinate with Marketing department to ensure marketing and sales functions are aligned.
  • Plan national and international sales meetings (core team meetings).
  • Prepare annual forecast and monthly reports of bookings for all Mensor product lines.
  • Prepare an annual sales budget (travel, sales meetings, promo items).
  • Assist with the development of sales presentations and promotions.
  • Make recommendations for new products and product extensions or enhancements.
  • Participate in trade associations or professional organizations that enhance Mensor's position in the marketplace.
  • Evaluate performance and provide feedback, support and coaching to the sales team.

 

EXPERIENCE/PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Business degree or related professional qualifications.
  • Five to ten years of experience in sales and management
  • US citizenship is required in order to access many government and aerospace customers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Frequent international and domestic travel is required (10-15%)
  • Problem analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Technical knowledge adequate to understand and sell Mensor products.
  • Solid understanding of pressure technology.
  • Ability to learn how precision instruments operate.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
